So... Seems as tho the fediverse was really really keen on seeing 11ty CMS become a thing. So I've spent the last couple of days figuring out how I'd get everything setup. I've taken to writing a project plan before I start most of my projects. For me, this means creating some sort of markdown document in Notesnook where I list all the libraries and frameworks I'm going to use. Then I write out anything that I know I'm going to find difficult/don't know how to do/will need to look up in bullet points. Then, I'll indent into these bullet points and include a bunch of links for resources about the thing I need to do. This helps keep my attention focused on getting the app done, rather than task switching between coding, research and troubleshooting. I've found it very helpful for my ADHD. Anyway...
So just moments after I open my eyes yesterday on Wednesday morning, I read that headline... I felt my stomach drop, as I try to understand what this means for me, as a trans person. Reading all the headlines about it being a "victory for women's rights", that it "brings clarity to the issue of gendered spaces" was all the more infuriating. Especially given that this is not a victory for women's rights and brings no such clarity to this so called "debate". But yet another normal day on Terf Island, huh?
I share my thinkymeat's thoughts here 🧠.
